Service Line Replacement

In March, 2016, the City of Flint began a pilot project to begin removing lead service lines.  The project removed lead lines at 30 homes and helped establish the processes that will be used for other replacements.

On February 18 2016, the City of Flint received $2M to begin a larger scale effort to remove lead lines.  A Request for Proposals was issued May 27, 2016 and in mid-July, contracts were being negotiated with two contractors to start this work.  This grant will eliminate up to 250 lead lines.
In June, the City was awarded a $25M grant to continue lead line removals in the City.
