Reinvigorating the Flint economy requires cultivating a business-friendly environment while supporting businesses that are committed to long-term investment and creating jobs in the city.
In the last several months, there are positive signs of long-term economic growth and an incipient recovery. The Flint Recovery Team and Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Flint Action Team are working together to put the building blocks in place.
“We’re working together to make Flint stronger,” said MEDC CEO Steve Arwood. “The plan to develop the city’s economy is proceeding on several levels, from seeking corporate investment to finding ways to attract those types of small, uniquely local businesses that are often the bedrock of a downtown or a neighborhood."
